The next SOAR bulletin board we want to share was created by 5th/6th and Co-curricular teacher teams. It is located at the end of the 5th/6th grade hallway. Be sure to take a peek at it, if you are ever in the building!
Walking the halls for meet & greet, parent information night or on the first day of school, you might have noticed a theme emerging throughout the building. Over the summer, a team of faculty & staff members joined forces to discuss our virtues for the year and out of that meeting, our theme also emerged. SOAR. Our theme for the year is Soar. We want the students, faculty & staff to fly high and rise to the occasion.
The faculty & staff were divided up and tasked with creating bulletin boards surrounding our theme. This bulletin board was created by Mrs. Tracy Perrett and Mrs. Chris Dinkel. It is located in our main entrance across from the trophy case. Be sure to take a peek at it, if you are ever in the building!
We will be sharing our other SOAR bulletin boards in the coming weeks, stay tuned!
Grandparents of Holy Family Elementary students, mark your calendar because we are celebrating you! Join us Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 for Grandparents Mass & Open House! Mass begins at 8:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. You are allowed to sit with your grandchildren at mass. We ask that only grandparents attend so there is plenty of room. Coffee & donuts will be served after mass, located in the halls of the HFE building. We welcome you to stop in, have a treat and visit your grandchildren’s classroom! Hope to see you there!

Something you may not know about us is that we have a First Friday Prayer Service, the first Friday of every month! What is First Friday Prayer Service? The students get divided into groups that we call 'families'. Each group consists of 7 to 8 students and includes students from every grade. The 6th grade students are in charge of collecting the littles from their classrooms and getting them to the area where their group will meet. The 6th graders are also in charge of leading the group. The groups stay together from year to year as 6th graders leave and Kindergarteners are added. They pray and may say a peace chaplet if there is time. Today, the students worked on getting to know each other using a simple round of questions. These prayer circles can last anywhere from 10-15 minutes. It is pure joy to walk the building and hear the students participating in these prayer circles.
Did you know that our Cajetan Cash fundraiser was named after Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene, better known as Saint Cajetan? He is the namesake and inspiration for this fundraiser because he is the patron saint of good fortune! He was an Italian Catholic priest and religious reformer. He was canonized on April 12th, 1671 and his feast day is August 7th. Saint Cajetan, pray for us!
