At Holy Family Elementary, we have the most amazing faculty & staff. The commitment and dedication of those who work here is like no other. They walk in their faith every single day and love our students fiercely. Each and every one of them brings something unique to the table and we would not be the school we are without them.
When a member of our faculty & staff leaves, we are saddened and oftentimes feel like something is missing. But God never leaves us feeling that way for long. He brings us the exact person we need to fill that gap and make us whole again.
This year, God brought us Miss Audrey Staab. A recent graduate of Fort Hays State University, she fulfills our needs for a Kindergarten teacher. She brings with her a new and fresh perspective to teaching. We expect great things from her and are ready to root for her as a new teacher. We are happy to have her with us and we invite you to take a moment to get to know her and to welcome her on our social media.
Name: Audrey Staab
Position at HFE: Kindergarten Teacher
Tell me about your family: I am the daughter of Karl and Debbie Staab and I have one younger sister, Morgan, who attends Fort Hays State University. I also have a black lab named Elway.
Tell me about your previous work experience: I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fort Hays State University in December 2021. This school year will be my first year as a classroom teacher. Over the last year and a half, I worked as a teacher’s aide and did my student teaching in a kindergarten classroom. Through these experiences, I learned many different classroom management strategies, learning activities, and many other ideas that I am excited to use within my own classroom.
Tell me about your hobbies, extracurricular activities, what you like to do outside of work: I love to travel, go on walks, be outside, shop, swim, go to the gym, read, and spend time with family and friends. My favorite thing to do though, is cheer on my favorite sports team, the Denver Broncos!
Tell me why you are excited to work at HFE: Ever since I was in elementary school, it has been my dream to be a teacher. I had awesome educators that inspired me to fulfill this dream. I am beyond excited to work at HFE because it is a place where I can continue to grow and teach my Catholic faith, inspire and help others, and assist in the growth and dreams of little minds. HFE has been beyond welcoming and helpful to me as I begin this new journey. I cannot wait to be a part of this awesome school.
Describe the personality trait you think you have that will best support HFE and our faculty & staff: Open-minded - I am always willing to try new things and better myself. I love looking for new ways to help others and to make the best of every situation.
If you had an extra $50, what would you spend it on: That is a tough question! I would probably have to say things for my classroom, a spa day, Mountain Dew snoballs or Starbucks’s strawberry freshers with apple juice!
What is your favorite saying, quote or expression: I have two! A Bible verse and a quote from the actress I was named after.
Jesus said, “Through man it is impossible but for God, everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26
Nothing is impossible, the word itself is “I’m possible.” - Audrey Hepburhn
What task do you most often put off until tomorrow: It depends on the day! Sometimes you just need a break and a breather and that is okay! Usually, it’s laundry or cleaning the dishes!
