Job Opening: After School Care Worker
HFE is seeking an ASC worker to begin immediately for the rest of the current school year. The potential employee would be needed from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays to help supervise the students after school is dismissed. Job duties include setting up, preparing snacks, assisting with homework, playing games/reading with the children, supervising both indoors and on the playground, and cleaning up afterward. A basic knowledge of general First Aid is helpful. We would like the new worker to continue with us for the 16-17 school year, preferably. Please stop by the school for an application or call the office with further questions.

VIRTUS & Parent Volunteering
If you, your spouse, a grandparent or other relative plan to volunteer to drive for school field trips this coming school year, it is now Diocesan policy that all volunteers complete the VIRTUS training. We also must have a copy of your drivers license & auto insurance card on file. To complete the VIRTUS training, please click the link below and click “VIRTUS Registration”. You will need to create a log-in and password. You will be prompted to complete a background check, so if you have not done so within the last 5 years through the Salina Diocese, please submit your information for one. This would not include a background check for your work unless you are employed by a parish or school in the Diocese! We encourage you to carve out about 90 minutes of uninterrupted time, as there will be a video that you will not be able to exit and resume later, followed by a short questionnaire. Upon completion, you will be able to print out a certificate. If you have any troubles printing it, we can let the Diocese know and they will mail us a copy. We thank you so much for committing to this process in order to volunteer at our school!
Prayer to St. Joseph for Rain
Blessed Saint Joseph, God chose you to be the husband of the Virgin Mary and the foster father of Jesus. You cared for the Son of God as your own son and taught him a trade. Because you were so close to him, He will not refuse anything you ask. Intercede for us in our great need. Pray for the blessing of rain. We are grateful for the moisture that we have received, but the land needs more. Ask God to water our fields and gardens, to fill the rivers, streams and lakes, and to bless our crops and livestock. Help us to live close to Jesus and Mary, as you did, strong in faith and good works, caring for one another. Amen.
Mary, Mother of God, and spouse of Joseph, pray for us.
St. Isadore, patron of farmers and farm life, pray for us.
